Far Cry 5
Far Cry 5 is a magnificent FPS game, there is no denying it. It has an impressive array of features and the gameplay, especially the combat, provides a top-shelf experience. The graphics look very good, very polished, with a lot of attention to detail. The open-world is well-detailed and carefully crafted, with elements from the previous games of the series (it is the 5th game of the series). All these are very good elements for a shooter game and often this game was put on the best tops for either PlayStation or Xbox. I had the chance to replay this game on PlayStation 5, so I can vouch it is one of the best PS5 FPS games you can buy right now. (Not to mention that the price dropped a little).
The story involves cults and gun violence. It is true that Far Cry 5 can be played as an arcade game, but it will make no sense. This is a top first-person shooter, and as result, it will attract shooter fans. The story is the element that created a lot of controversies and was somewhat unsatisfactory for pro and anti-gun people. It seems to make fun of both, and it does not take any stand. From here a lot of fire, maybe underserved. Because, in my opinion, this game should be regarded as a FPS, and there are a lot of shooters out there with a plot that is much worst than this one. Why would Far Cry be judge by different standards?

The Last of Us: Part 2
The Last of Us: Part 2 is controversial because the main character is a girl in a lesbian relationship. This game by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment was better engineered, with a strong story and a point of view. It takes a stand and it is clearly for empathy - the main focus of this action-adventure PS5 video game, and social justice. Ellie is in a same-sex relationship with a non-playable character - Dina. This is controversial only for those that are against (maybe some of the pro-religion guys who were upset about Far Cry 5)? The only controversial thing is this gay relationship.
It is insane, because if you change the female protagonist with a male, nothing worthy of opposition there... I would rather say that picturing Ellie as a cliche tomboy is rather upsetting. I would preferred a more feminine Ellie, maybe a bi-sexual character. Maybe in The Last of Us: Part III? Other complains are not controversial. Some people do not like the ending, but I find it magnificent. It is a culmination of everything was built during the game. For better or worst, The Last of Us: Part II was voted the best game of the year and won multiple awards and nominations. This tells me that it is controversial only in a small corner of the world.
