Need for Speed Heat is a racing video game that is taking place on the streets of fictional Palm City, developed by Ghost Games and published by Electronic Arts. The game runs on Frostbite 3 game engine, developed by DICE ad acquired by EA (as well as Ghost Games, now a subsidiary of Electronic Arts). The game was released on November 8, 2019 for Xbox One, Windows PC and PlayStation 4. Need for Speed Heat is one of the better xbox and ps4 racing games, bringing back the themes from Underground 1 & 2.

You earn money to buy cars, upgrades and the like during day races, while night racing you earn Rep, which allows you to progress through the career, unlock more cars and better performance parts. Side tasks like drifting events, long-jump challenges, and speed traps help to break up the monotony of grinding through races, but race events are still the main method through which you earn both Bank and Rep. Night time brings the ‘Underground' theme to Need for Speed Heat with illegal street races, most of which are point-to-point sprints, with reputation as a reward. During the day I was earning money racing in legally sanctioned races as part of the Speedhunter Showdown event going on in the city, while at night I was earning reputation in illegal street races and getting chased by cops.

There are some new ps4 games released recently, but NFS Heat caught our attention. You'll need to become accustomed to every new ride you acquire as you take on a huge array of challenges within the massive locale that is Palm City. For example, if their car is under-leveled or they've just unlocked one they want to purchase, focusing on day races will help players get that done sooner, whether it be the standard race or a NFS Drift Trial However, if players need to grind for levels, then they will want to race the streets at night in order to advance the story. 

Need for Speed Heat's events take place on the highways and byways of the game's open world, and sometimes they aren't as well laid out as they could be. Gates are often placed too far apart making it easy to take a wrong turn, particularly during night races. It was crazy that the game posits that street racing is such an extreme epidemic that police are given almost limitless power in taking them down, yet for some reason the city is littered with street races every day. During the day the city is for some reason full of legitimate street races seemingly sanctioned by the city where you earn money, but if you need to level up your rep, you need to come back at night and take part in some of the illegal races that are so regularly featured in the game's newscasts. Everything come together into one of the best ps4 games out there.

Although there have been plenty of opportunities to make changes to the cars in the latter Need for Speed games, it was Underground that set the standard for many, and Need for Speed Heat seems to have taken quite a bit of inspiration from those racing gems. For those who trudge through it, the game is actually incredibly rewarding by the end, and completing these races and activities will unlock players new and special cars in Need for Speed Heat to be customized as they see fit. This police gameplay carries over into the story as well, with the best story missions related to how players deal with the crooked cops of Palm City.
